Thanks for this wonderful remembrance. I had known Tom though the National Geographic explorers’ network as well as serving on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel of the Global Environment Facility. He was always such a good listener to comparatively junior colleagues like myself – never patronizing or dismissive of alternate views and welcoming of collaboration and inclusion. He will be dearly missed.
